Message from the CEO

2009 brings a new focus to Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) with the University of Sydney celebrating 25 years of its establishment in 1984. CCE was a further development of the lifelong learning division of the University stretching back to 1886. In a very short space of time and even without reference to Orwell’s novel, we inhabit a vastly different world to the one in 1984. Learning and development as well as career-building skills are an important part of this. What we have tried to achieve through CCE is a contemporary ‘town square’ where people gather to learn, be enriched and to interact with one another, all important for the emotional life of our community.
